Purple And Yellow OR Lavender And Ylang Ylang

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing – physically and emotionally. Carrying a bottle of lavender around with you is like having your own personal first aid kit, perfume and pick-me-up.

Because it is the most versatile of all essential oils, also your home should not be without it. It is a great aid for relaxing and winding down before bedtime, yet has balancing properties that can also boost stamina and energy. Therapeutic-grade lavender has been highly regarded for the skin. It may be used to cleanse cuts, bruises and skin irritations.

The health benefits of lavender essential oil include its ability to eliminate nervous tension, relieve pain, disinfect the scalp and skin, enhance blood circulation and treat respiratory problems. The Latin name of lavender is Lavare, which means “to wash”, due to its aroma which has a particularly clean aroma.

Lavender oil is extracted mostly from the flowers of the lavender plant, primarily through steam distillation. The flowers of lavender are fragrant in nature and have been used for making potpourri for centuries. Traditionally, lavender essential oil has also been used in making perfumes. The oil is very useful in aromatherapy and many aromatic preparations and combinations are made using lavender oil.

Tips for how to use? Soothe minor burns by applying 2–3 drops of lavender essential oil to the affected area. You are able to minimize the appearance of scar tissue by massaging lavender essential oil on or around affected areas. A Ylang Ylang Flower
Ylang Ylang oil is steam distilled from the fresh flowers of the ylang-ylang tree. Which bears the scientific name Cananga Odorata and is commonly found in the rain forests of certain Asian and South Pacific Islands like Indonesia, Philippines, Java, Sumatra, Comoro and Polynesia. And means “flower of flower”. It has been used customarily for promoting thick beautiful hair as well as smooth skin.

Ylang Ylang has a lengthy history of skin and hair care in Asia. It also carries the additional benefits of being a very effective anti depressant and sedative and is even believed to be helpful with PMS symptons. A few drops in your bath will not only be good for your skin but will also elevate your mood and improve your over all sense of well being.

Can be applied directly to the skin or within a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, for young or sensitive skin. Start with 1 drop to 1-3 tsp of carrier and increase the amount of essential oil as needed.

Tips for how to use? Massage into the shoulders or back, apply to the feet, or use aromatically to promote a tranquil peace. Massage a single drop into the muscle areas of tension; this will give you both the topical and aromatic benefits of Ylang Ylang essential oil. To relieve worries place a single drop in the palm of your hand and inhale for 30 seconds or as little or as long as you see fit. Diffuse throughout the room, apply a drop before bed or periods of rest, or add a drop to your hair or shirt collar to promote relaxation.
